What is your favorite thing about working with small businesses and startups?
I love meeting new people, learning about different businesses and the exciting aspect of working with a start-up from the time of inception through the fundraising stage to a future sale or acquisition.
What are the highlights of your career so far (length in field, education, places worked, clients served, etc)?
I have worked with some incredibly talented and intelligent people throughout my career, and I have learned so much from each one of them. I have been a CPA for over 20 years, and my love for accounting keeps me wanting to learn more every day.
Where did you grow up? How did you end up living where you live now?
I moved frequently growing up, and I have lived in Iowa, Ohio, Texas (x3), California, Florida and even London, England. (My father worked for an oil company, and he got transferred every couple of years). Once I got to high school, we were able to stay in Houston, TX. My husband and I were high school sweethearts, and we decided to stay in Houston after graduation from college.
What three words best describe you?
Passionate, dependable and optimistic
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
I love to spend time with family and friends. I am an avid tennis player, and I also love to play pickleball. My family enjoys traveling, and we look forward to going to a new destination each year. I also love attending Texas Longhorn football/baseball games, as both of our children attend college there. Hook ‘em!!!
Anything on your bucket list?
Too many to list! Most of them involve traveling to a faraway place!
