How did you decide you wanted to work in accounting/finance?
I knew the basis of all business’ are their accounting books and records and I felt it would be great place to start and learn about where my future path might lead with that background.
What are the highlights of your career so far (length in field, education, places worked, clients served, etc)?
My highlight has been my longevity in my two main career experiences (19 and 12 years) as well as the many experiences I have been exposed to while in those jobs. It has made me a better employee, mentor, and leader.
Any specific Industries you specialize in or enjoy serving?
I have deep experience in wholesale distribution, legal services and c-store/restaurant retail operations.
Are there any technology/tools you have experience in, specialize in or enjoy using?
I enjoy all accounting and spreadsheet programs, mostly Excel and Quickbooks.
What is your favorite thing about working with small businesses and startups?
My favorite thing is really being able to see how much of a difference your work can impact them and their business success.
What three words best describe you?
Compassionate, dedicated and good humored
Where did you grow up? How did you end up where you live now?
Minneapolis – stayed here because I enjoyed my family and really enjoy the lifestyle the Twin Cities provides plus I met my wife here!
What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
Doctor
What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
I enjoy being outdoors as much as I can, even in the Winter. I am a avid downhill skiier, cycler and when time allows a golfer.
Anything on your bucket list?
Mostly traveling to places I have never been (Australia, Japan, Iceland) to name a few.
Do you have any quotes or mottos to live by?
Always look forward and live life with energy and compassion.
Anything else you want a prospective client to know?
Never be afraid to challenge the status quo – if I don’t know the answer I will certainly do the diligence to locate and provide options quickly and respectfully.
